AI agents are moving from assisting transactions to initiating them - authorizing, routing, and executing payments with minimal human oversight. For the banking & payments ecosystem, this brings a step-change in efficiency and also in risk. Autonomous agents introduce a new class of attack surface: manipulated agent behavior, compromised machine identities, poisoned decision inputs, and payment actions executed at machine speed and scale beyond what traditional security controls were designed to detect.

Most payment security frameworks assume a human in the loop, but agentic payments break that assumption. In this session, we discuss what changes when AI agents become active participants in the payment ecosystem, the emerging threats, the control gaps they expose, and how security leaders should evolve their security operations to detect, investigate, and respond to these machine-speed threats before the attack patterns mature.

What attendees will take away:

  1. Where agentic AI is changing the traditional boundaries of payment security
  1. The security blind spots created when autonomous actions replace human decision-making
  1. Why detecting and responding to AI threats require a different security operations approach
  1. The growing importance of agent behavior monitoring as AI becomes an active decision-maker in payments.
  1. Key considerations for preparing security operations before agentic attack patterns become more sophisticated
