July 26, Bengaluru – In 2024, cybercriminals defrauded Indians of ₹22,845.73 crore, a 206% spike from the previous year. SISA launched Cybersmart Bharat, its flagship CSR initiative aimed at equipping school students with digital safety awareness.

Launched at Sri Siddaganga PU College on Kargil Vijay Diwas, the programme will reach over 13,000 students across urban and rural Bengaluru through interactive sessions conducted by trained student volunteers, enabled by Youth for Seva.

Dharshan Shanthamurthy, CEO: “As a parent of two young children, I often ask – are we truly doing enough to protect our kids in this digital world? Cybersmart Bharat is our way of standing guard for the next generation.”

The programme covers online peer pressure, harmful content identification, cyber hygiene, and builds critical thinking and digital agency for students in Grades 8-12.
